Welcome to the 2013-14 season of Bracket Science!

The college basketball season always seems to sneak up on me. I can’t believe that we’re already past the first couple sacrificial lambs on every big team’s exhibition schedule.

But I have been doing my homework. The Bracketmaster research tool is all up to date…and tomorrow night I’ll posting my first check of prospective 2014 tourney champions. Within the next week, you’ll also get new analysis on tourney coaching. Here’s a surprise: there’s a new name at the top of the best active overachievers list.

Before long, you’ll be able to sort through ratings lists on coaches, teams and conferences. And I’ll start populating the “TIPS+” section with key forecasting tools to help you get a jump on the 2014 tournament contenders and pretenders.

A final word on this season: I’m devoting my energies exclusively to bracketscience.com. Last year saw our largest membership ever, maybe because of the lower fee, maybe because of the new format. It didn’t hurt, either, that a lot of traffic jumped here from cbssports.com. I did a lot of writing for CBS, but it came at a price. I was burned out after last year and vowed to simplify. That’s why I’ve decided this year to develop content exclusively for this site. You won’t get it anywhere else–not throughout the season and not during the heat of March Madness. This will be your source for the most in-depth analysis into what makes the tourney tick. I hope you enjoy my work.

Awesome! When you’re ready for sign ups for the new season let me know.

Hey hey Paul. I think the sign-up works now. But the only real insider content is the Ratings list and the full Bracketmaster. You may want to wait for the first in-depth study.

Great to hear, Pete. I think this is my third (maybe fourth?) year being a subscriber. Worth every dollar; keep up the great work and enjoy the season!
